and today, we finally went for our hainanese chicken rice lunch!

the boys walking ahead of eve and moi, eagerly anticipating their highly recommended chicken rice. :)

the chicken rice was good! silky smooth FLESH muahahha and A LOT of it, which is important. quantity is always important hurhurhur :) at such an affordable price of $3.50 too! yaaaay evelyn and i were happy girls today :) but evelyn is not really a "chicken person" in her own words haha...next time need to bring her to go eat like salad bar or something, while i sit there in misery hurhur *grinses*

us! (with the self-timer, photo-whoring)

us again with the help of the chicken-rice auntie :)

today was a relatively slack day, with one lect and one tutorial. though i feel terribly apologetic to evelyn and herng wee who were so sweet to accompany me for almost 3 hours cos i was suffering from SOB i.e. shortness of breath haha sighs...thanks for accompanying me to see the doctor and for being ever so patient!!! :)

and on our way to see the doctor, we met ocs and kahhwa! :)

hee and me and eve decided to photo-whore again in the MO room :) so here we are :)

kk and because i still can't stop going on about phantom, here's a photo secretly taken in the theatre! haha i was soooo tempted to record my favourite duet, but when they started singing, i couldn't take my eyes away long enough to grab the camera from my bag haha sighs...so beautiful! wish i got a shot of the chandelier too :)

and although it's only monday, can't wait for friday to come again! for pple at ttsh, it's staff day this fri, so 50% off at starbucks again wheeeeee! me and evelyn already planned our friday very well, and our well-thought out plan is to sit at starbucks at 2.45pm, then immediately be the first ones in queue at 3pm! heeeeee not gonna miss out on my oreo cheesecake this time! yaaaaay cheeseacke awaits us!! :):):) friday come come quick! :)

wheeeeeeeee happy! :)
watched phantom of the opera today, and it was such a fantastic experience!!! it was my first broadway musical (hurhur so mountain tortoise), and everything was so beautiful! our stall seats were great and worth every dollar cos we could see like EVERYTHING close up....loved the set decor, the special effects, the orchestra, the acting and of course, most of all the singing! :) i loved it from the moment it started, and it kept me smiling the whole way through, esp when they sang my fav song "all i ask of you"! just melted completely when i heard it :) sighs felt so sad and sorry for the phantom at the end...sighs really just loved the whole show so much! haha sheesh i keep repeating that but i really could watch it again! too bad today was the 2nd last day already haha sighs :) sighs love it love it love it...i'm so gonna watch every broadway musical that comes to singapore! :)

Say you'll love me every waking moment,
turn my head with talk of summertime.
Say you need me with you now and always,
promise me that all you say is true,
that's all I ask of you.

finally the week is over..TGIF! :) haha though it's been one exciting week...it's been really exhausting too sighs...tutorial today was horrendous...questions fired at us that i could hardly answer at all cos they were all about ANAT...haha what anat?! eeeeeks my anat is as if i never took it at all in m1 haha sighs...erps. luckily managed to escape from the questions...would have definitely crashed and burned hurhur :)

but it was a good week all in all :) eve and i meet some really nice and understanding patients who kept asking us to examine them so that we could learn! how great is that :) and some of them had really fantastic attitudes towards their illnesses..this work is really getting very humbling :)

had a nice CG lunch with the boys and hon today! FINALLY we had lunch together, after like 4 weeks of working together hurhur...better late than never of course :) glad that we're getting to know them better...after 4 weeks, conversation flows much more easily. and i guess we're bonded by our good and bad experiences that we've gone through hurhur :) hainanese chicken rice next week! :) need to take more photos before our posting ends :)

and so...
with a grateful heart
with a song of praise
with an outstretched arm
i wiill bless your name
thank you Lord
i just wanna thank you Lord
for all you've given to me
for all the blessings that i cannot see
thank you Lord

wheeeeeee so happy! :)

it's been such a great time spent in the hospitals :) some days super tired, but then some days also super high hurhur, and today was one of those days! despite 2 3hr tutorials in a row haha...had a great lunch with evelyn at lerk thai (yay green curry!) and we have resolved to try the famous hainanese chicken rice across the road one of these days...not much time left, just 2 and a half weeks! gosh hard to believe we've been here for like 3 plus weeks already :)

i lovvvvvvve talking to my patients! today met 2 really nice eldery men...who were sooo obliging it was unbelievable. and both had a sense of humour. was great to see them having such a positive outlook on life even though they were stuck in the hospital. i think all these encounters with them are really humbling. and they always seem to impart some of their knowledge to us. love it :) so glad i'm gonna be doing this for the rest of my life. though i guess next time we won't have the luxury to sit down for half an hour and chat. mustmustMUST treasure my 3 years in med sch left :)

so much work to do though! so many readings to do! haha buried in a mountain of work, but still happy! i can't believe it myself hurhur :) weekdays are all burnt in the hospitals, and weekends seem to be the only time to go out and have some fun, and even then i still feel compelled to catch up on stuff that i didn't manage to do during the weekdays. and if we already have so much work now, what more for medicine and surgery posting next! hurhur i feel the shivers to my spine :)

my cg!

yaaaaaay night call tomorrow!!! really really looking forward to it...hope we get an enthu MO or HO to take us around! :)

and get well soon evelyn dear!!! :)

so happy! :):):)

clinics have finally started after a long 2 year wait, and it's been great! love working with evelyn, it's been wonderful so far :) love seeing the patients and overcoming the initial inertia in approaching them, think we're both learning to be more courageous hurhur :) and some patients are so nice it's amazing! i mean, they're like not feeling well but they still make it a point to put US at ease, or apologise to us if they're not feeling up it. really really really love everything about clinics (besides the aching back and legs and heels hurhur of course) and ttsh is sucha great place to work in. nice environment with fantastic food found just next door at novena square hee :) hope i get another long posting here soon...like MEDICINE posting ahem ahem :)

BUT! i guess everyone's enjoying it as much as me. :) after all, this is like finally what we've been looking forward to for so so long. and it's just so fulfilling even though we aren't able to actively do anything to help the patients yet. it's still fulfilling when you manage to get a smile out of them when you ask them about their grandchildren and all (haha even though it's part of the social history hurhur) but still :) i LOVEEEEEE my work! :)

still taking a little getting used to though...the hours are long, and thinking of questions to ask patients and listening to them surprisingly saps a lot of energy out of us...both of us are so exhausted most of the days usually i just go back and watch tv and fall asleep haha sighs. so exhausting :) but happy exhausting :)

feel that life nowadays is relatively well-balanced, compared to the previous term when all we did was study study and more study. at least now we get to talk to people in the wards, meet up with friends, go have a relaxed meal and check out the oh so numerous delicious food stalls in novena square (yaaaaaaay!) and go out and have fun. less pressure perhaps cos it's not examinable. but still got a lot of stuff to read up on, though i think it's been quite enjoyable reading cos no more microbe!!! haha at least for the time being :) wheeeeee love it love it love it! :)

us! :) looking forward to the next 3 years ahead girl! :)

jiayous everyone! take care and don't fall sick in the wards! :)
