RJC alumni concert last night! I thought it was fab :) loved the music and seeing familiar faces playing on stage. :) hurhur it's quite unbelievable that i never went for a band concert before all those years in rg and rj *sheepish* but! finally :) thanks dear! :)
just read this passage in a book, and thought it was beautiful, and a wonderful and positive and right way to look at things in life :)
"We're all given terrible trials sometimes, things that we think will break our spirit and kill us, and they make us stronger in the end. They seem like the cruelest blows, but in a funny way they're like compliments from God. If He didn't love you and believe in you, He wouldn't given you challenges like this. They're opportunities for grace. This is God's way of telling you that He loves you and believes in you. It's a compliment from Him to you. Look at Christ on the cross. Think of the challenge that must have been for Him. The agony of betrayal by people He had trusted, and death. And afterward came the resurrection. He proved that no challenge, no matter how great, could end His love for us."

to be a child again.
sometimes, i just close my eyes to take away all that is in front of me, and let myself dream of the wonderful possibility of going back in time and being a child again. a time where worries were so far away, a time where happiness was a given, a time where you just felt like bouncing around everyday and nothing could stop you, and you were invincible.
a time where the only worries came in the form of whether you would miss your favourite tv programme, a time where unhappiness lasts for a day when your friend comes up to you and says "i don't friend you anymore!" and the next day, you're best friends again, a time where the only time you didn't feel like bouncing around was because you had such a great day that you just didn't have the energy to do that anymore.
such a wonderful period of time, childhood is. and suddenly, everyone is grown up, and it just hits you that that period of bliss is over. and in comes the stresses of adulthood, and everything that goes along with it, in come the problems that seem insurmountable. yet when you think about it, your problems are just so insignificant compared to others, but you still can't help feeling the way you do, and feeling lousy that you could even feel that way. we spend half our childhood playing house (for me, it was playing doctor), and wishing that we would grow up more quickly, and before we know it, we ARE, and we spend the rest of it reminiscing about childhood times. though thinking about it doesn't bring you back in time, it still reminds you that many a times, perhaps the best approach to things would be to see things simply, like we did when we were younger.
thinking about the P3 Courage kids, and what a wonderful 4 months i had with them, and wondering why that was so. and i realised that it was because they let me see what it was like to be carefree and on a perpetual high all over again. and they infuse me with their infectious laughter, like a fuel that keeps the smile on my face. and they just keep me going day after day after day. and i just want that back again.
i just want that back again. is that too much to ask for as a new year's wish?

oh candlelight service at church yesterday was so soooo beautiful!
loved the carols we sing once in a year, loved the decorations at the Plaza, loved the play about the gift of hope, loved the acapella performances by the Wesley singers, but most of all, loved the candle-lighting part, where the pastors took the flame from a lone candle on the stage, and the flame from that one candle was passed on to the entire congregation. seeing the lights go on one by one, especially from a vantage point on stage :) so so beautiful! and by God's grace, the slight rain only lasted for about 5 mins, and it really helped to cool the weather down a lot :) arghhh so regretful i didn't bring a camera to capture those beautiful images, but they'll be etched onto my memory forever :)
had pleasant surprises at service yesterday too! saw zhengyue and his family in the audience while singing on stage hurhur and we waved back and forth. *grinses* haven't seen him in church for such a long time since i started going for the later services, so it was really good to see him again yesterday. saw weili too! heh never knew he was in wesley too! was looking out for the rest too...aud, blanche, claire and jon, but didn't see them unfortunately....too many people man!! until some had to stand on the main road outside the church to attend the service *grinses*
anyways! am sure christmas will be the usual wonderful season it always is...family gathering with 2 special guests this year!! :) yaaay can't wait for that tmr (or rather today :P) christmas is a season of love...and i'm so happy to be sharing it with my family members closest to me whom i love! *beams* it's really during this season that we reflect back and think about the people who are always there for us, unconditionally, in happiness and in sadness...and we really appreciate that family will always be there no matter what changes around us. that family will always be a pillar of strength we can lean and depend on. that family will always bring smiles to our faces, especially in the forms of little ones running around and giving hugs and kisses so freely, so infectiously :)
and because of them, i know that no matter what happens, everything will be right again in the end. and that's just how amazing things are :)
merry christmas everyone!! love ya all! *hugs*
