watching my kids at their art and craft lessons just makes me smile! they're always so excited, and they come up to me and say, "ms thain, this is so fun!" and i just melt with their angelic laughter. :) hurhur though i'm more of a pseudo-art teacher than anything else (just dread those 2 periods each week hehe)...all of you who know me should know i can't draw anything besides my infamous flower doodlings hurhur...so each week, when it comes to that dreaded art and craft lesson on fri, i'll just tell the kids, "use your creativity! use different colours! make different shapes!" (they're making clay magnets now) and i'll cringe inside at my lameness *grin* then i walk around and marvel at some of the things they make and paint...so pretty! wah i just want to grab their magnets and claim it as mine, but must resist temptation hurhur! so cute, all of them :)

oh yes and the other day staff meeting was rather exciting hurhur...did some standardization exercise for oral exams, which meant we got to hear different children on tape and try to set marks for each child so we know how much to give our kids for their oral exams...it was like listening all over again with a twist! :) wah some kids were impressive...vocab was good, and super mature thinking and all, but some were rather painful...but it's alright, i'm rather looking forward to testing my kids for their oral exams :) ahem seeing as they are usually so talkative, i don't think most of them will have any problems..:)

whee...can't wait for next week when i'll have less stuff to do and more time to go out! haha miss weishi, aijia and xiuyi so much...hope we can finally get together on fri *crosses fingers* wah the last time we went out together was like...2 months ago? want to know how they're getting along now!! :) and debate team as well! hurhur somehow we never manage to set a date, but that's just like us...ahem too much debating over date and time and no outcome in the end *grinses*

haha fantastic day today! :)

choir concert today, sang with alumni! i totally agree with what sicheng said...practs with this great and fun bunch of people over the past few weeks have been one of the highlights in my life. can't thank everyone enough for those wonderful memories that i will treasure forever. the sitting around talking about nothing in particular, the cracking of our minds on the choreo (haha which we pulled off quite well i think*beam*), the walking around RJ trying to find a place to pract haha sheesh, reginald's and krishna's beautiful voices that i'll never ever tire of, just the pure joy of meeting my wonderfully sweet seniors jingjing and amanda that brought back many memories of J1 days. miss you guys already, can't wait for next year hurhur! :) heh unfortunately performance didn't go as well as it could have, but it was still fun! couldn't really hear the rest then we went a little off pitch, fortunately went back again on the right pitch after some time phew...luckily candice's tap-dancing performance was so spectacular i'm sure the audience would forgive us for that *grinses* and thank you geri and singyong for the beautiful flowers! didn't expect to receive any this year as part of the alumni, so it was a such a fantastic surprise! thank you so much! :

hurhur i went running at bishan stadium just the other day (wed) and there was this old man who was coaching the athletes of st. michael's primary school. Then into my 3rd lap, i heard him shout to me "Are you going to sprint?!" and i was like "erm...no." haha then he looked at me rather curiously and asked me whether i was from raffles (since i was in the school's pe attire). Then i said yes! and THEN he repeated his question, which in context i was now able to hear as "Have you got the spirit!?" haha my first response must have been a real letdown for him. *grinses* then he told me he was once upon a time from raffles too! haha really think the great thing about being in the rafflesian family is the ties you have with strangers around you, even great great X 60? grand seniors like that old man :) hurhur then he asked me whether i was waiting for uni, and then he went, "medicine right...." haha wah highlight of my day! hopefully it's a good sign for whatever's coming soon *shivers* :)

it's been fun going back to sing for rj alumni! though my voice has greatly deteriorated after a month plus teaching in school hurhur...so happy-fying to see some of the seniors like jingjing and amanda again! *beams* and we crashed rj chorale pract on sat, and whoa our juniors sound sooooo good man...wonderful job done, i think they deserve best choir this time around in syf! :)
