science quiz
heh. tpjc science quiz. what a joke. brought in a 10cent coin, and used it for about 5 questions. guess what? for all the questions i tossed a coin for, i got it correct! *grin* sadly, those that i thought i got correct, i got them wrong. *sheepish grin* some interesting facts i learnt:
1) "Beta agonist" is a chemical used to help pigs in weight loss. (i tossed a coin for this)
2) The moon is approximately 4.6 billion years old, the same as earth.
3) Green tea contains a chemical called catechin that helps in the prevention of cancer.
4) The escape velocity of earth is 11km/s.
5) Our sun will eventually become a white dwarf. (???)
6) William Harvey discovered the circulation of blood. (tossed coin again...)
ah well. can't remember any more. and ri swept both 1st and 2nd, leaving tchs with 3rd, and acsi with 4th. had previously predicted that these 4 teams would get in...so it wasn't a surprise at all.
left for family gathering after that...birthday celebrations! we went out for steamboat and cake....heh. really fun...=)

heh. computer has been restored to full working condition. yay =)
ah well. just came home from ice-skating. thankfully, managed to get through the evening without falling once. phew. it was quite fun actually, though my legs are like screaming now...blisters on feet too.
science quiz tomorrow. i have to make it a point to bring a coin in. after all, i'm predicting that i won't be able to do like more than 50% of the questions. one must therefore resort to desperate...but efficient methods. coin tossing! somehow, it kind of works for me. the other time i tried it, i got 75% of the questions i tossed coins for correct i think. so, hope that happens again tomorrow. *beams*
oh yeah. my cousin's birthday is tomorrow. heh. she's been smsing me the whole week, reminding me to get her a present. ah well. will do that before i go over to her house tomorrow. which reminds me of jen's birthday on monday. sigh. jen, u're such a difficult person to get a present for. we had actually intended to get you a thong *grin* but decided against it. so...u'll see what u're getting on mon. =)

well. after a long break of 16 days of not posting, i am back. urgh. not that my computer at home has miraculously come a full round to repair itself, but rather, just that i have relegated to using the school's old, slow and horrible computer with an ultra slow whatever-you-call-it. (ad tells me it's called a processor)
inter-gep debates. my first attempt at adjudication was fun. was quite difficult to decide actually, and had to look through the points over and over again. The decision sort of like came suddenly. gave the debate to tchs by 5 points. (val gave it to them by 4.5) ah well. inter-gep debates have since changed for the better (or the worst depending on who you ask) it's no longer a function with the facade of intellectual inquiry, but really a "social" session in disguise. rather, they've changed it such that the whole team is made up of people from the same team, instead of it being a mixture of representatives from schools, which was what happened in my year. as a result, it's rather like a mini Julia Gabriels. oh yeah, and found out that J2s adjudicating for JGs are actually accumulating their community services hours, because somehow, adjudicating is doing a SERVICE to the community. hah. what a joke. i'm not complaining though.
sigh. 9 tests this week. and i thought sec 3 was bad enough. wonder what happened to the policy of maximum 3 tests a week.

hmm. ad asked me when my birthday was the other day, and assured me it was nothing bad. i wonder if she had been planning to get me a michael ballack poster. heh. well ad, if so, don't waste ur money yeah? $10 for a poster that i have no place to hang up, nor have any desire to hang up is not worth ur money k? heh. if u want, u could always print out a nice A4 size one so i can put it in my hw file! and be motivated to study everytime i open my file =) (would have printed it out myself, but my printer's not working...so.)
ah well. my flu has now transformed into a cough. a bloody nasty one too. hope it gets better before fri, if not, i'll be coughing intermittently into the teacher's face during prelim orals. *eww*
sigh. am still not studying intensively. i disappoint myself sometimes...sigh. waste lots and lots of waste doing useless things, e.g. playing games online, watching replays of world cup matches (caught the eng vs brazil match + the germany vs US match), watching tv too often...well, basically doing everything except study. help!!!

urgh. i chose a really bad day to get sick.
was supposed to go for the external validation interview thing today after school. obviously, since i wasn't in school, i couldn't go for it. tried to contact mrs cheriyan to tell her, but after like 5-6 calls to her desk, she's just never there. tried to call ms neo, but couldn't get her either. tried to call ms yeo, but her colleague said she was busy. in the end, asked sunny to help me tell ms yeo, so that i won't get killed by any teacher when i return to school. what a mess.
to add on to that, i was also supposed to go for an adjudication training at grange road today. again, obviously, i couldn't make it. tried to call mrs see numerous times, but she could not be reached either. sigh. i think i spent most of my time calling teachers, or rather, attempting to reach them today. and because i didn't know who exactly was going, and had no way of contacting them even if i knew, i lived a day of unease. well, maybe i am overreacting, but....oh well.
and to end it all, i received my handphone bill for the month of may or june. apparently, i exceeded my 360 smses, something i've never done before. i have a sneaky feeling that smses through icq are counted as well, including smses people send me through icq. seriously, i have no idea. but it's the only possible reason since i AM sure i didn't sms much. *grrr* i wanna kill the person who bombarded me with icq sms messages so, beware!
